Sports and recreation are a big part of life in McKinney with tons of athletic programs and events from Baseball leagues to the annual “Bike the Bricks” cycling race downtown. Here, you’ll never run out of things to do.  The Michael Johnson Performance Center in McKinney offers world-class training for all ages and skill levels. Kids love the summer camps and youth sports, while college-level athletes get a serious workout with agility, strength and pro-training.

Lifestyle

If you’re looking for an all-American town that still hosts parades on Main Street, plays classic films at the courthouse, and celebrates local history year-round, then McKinney, Texas is for you. Getting settled in a new community can be somewhat of a challenge, but those who move to McKinney always seem to fit right in. That’s because it’s a town filled with plenty of welcoming neighbors who have a bright, friendly disposition, and housing options to fit any budget.

Shopping and Dining

Historic downtown McKinney is always a bustle of activity with kids lining up for ice cream, friends meeting for coffee and shop-keepers dressing the windows. If you are someone who is into the farm to table trend, every Saturday from early spring to mid-October the local Farmer’s Market at Chestnut Square is a McKinney must-see. People come from all over to sample everything from Habanero peppers to strawberry jam and local honey. It’s the perfect excuse to stock up on regional produce, artisanal cheeses, farm fresh eggs and native plants and flowers.
